The network software solutions include the Sub Network Controller (SC) and the Network Manager (NM)
Sub Network Controller
The SC software collects, filters, records and plays back information on AIS targets received by the AIS Base Stations. Data collected can be distributed to information users on a filtered basis – providing service to ship owners via WAN – or unfiltered for the VTS authority. Replay can be used in investigations as a basis for statistical analysis or for training purposes. The recorded database and the streaming data can be interfaced by standard VTS software systems and displayed on screens fitted to standard computers. The SC software runs on a server-class Linux OS computer.
Network Manager
The NM software is used for remote maintenance, software upgrading and hardware monitoring of the Base Station chain. The one-per-chain approach of remote control and management is cost-effective and ensures high availability. The NM software runs on any standard Windows computer.
